Data Deletion Instructions
Use the steps below to remove a connected social account or request deletion of information associated with a customer conversation.
Effective date: August 8, 2026
For Instagram or Facebook customers
- Contact the business whose Instagram or Facebook account you messaged and state that you want the conversation data handled through SEROS to be deleted.
- Provide only enough information for that business to locate the record, such as your channel username and the approximate conversation date. Do not send passwords or access tokens.
- The business or its workspace administrator will verify the request and remove eligible customer, conversation, and message records subject to legal retention requirements.
Removing a conversation from SEROS does not automatically delete copies controlled independently by Instagram, Facebook, or the connected business. Contact those parties separately when necessary.
For connected-account owners
- Sign in to your authorized SEROS workspace.
- Open Integrations and select the connected provider.
- Disable or delete the integration to stop new collection and revoke the stored connection credentials.
- Ask the workspace owner to erase historical channel data if it must also be removed from the CRM database.
You can also revoke the application from the connected provider’s account settings. Revoking access stops future API access but does not by itself constitute a verified request to delete all historical CRM data.
What deletion covers
A verified deletion request covers eligible profile identifiers, conversations, messages, comments, attachments, and derived CRM records held for the requesting workspace. Security and audit evidence may be retained when required to prevent fraud, demonstrate compliance, or meet legal obligations. Encrypted backup copies are removed as the applicable backup cycle expires.
Help with a request
If you are a customer, contact the business whose social account you messaged. If you are an authorized user, contact your SEROS workspace administrator. Include the affected channel and approximate date, but never include a password, secret, or access token.
